Inspired by a Broadway tradition, the Legacy Robe is presented to a remarkable cast member who consistently surpasses expections. Additionally, a deserving crew member is selected to craft a commemorative patch representing the production to be sewn on the robe.

A week before the show’s premiere, both the cast and crew cast their votes, with the winners are revealed on opening night.The previous winner proudly bestows the robe to the new honoree in a fun ceremony. It is then the duty of the Legacy Robe winner to then “bless” the house and playing area before each performance.

Here at AGA, we are proud to recognize our cast and crew for being the exceptional team members they are—and the entire cast and crew takes an active role in this tradition.

During tech week, the cast & crew will anonymously cast their votes for which cast and crew member have exceeded their expectations during the rehearsal process. The Executive Director then counts the votes and announce the recipients to the production, alongside the show's Director, on opening night.
