MARJORIE PRIME

BY JORDAN HARRISON

DIRECTED BY JILLIAN MITCHELL

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

It’s the age of artificial intelligence, and 85-year-old Marjorie — a jumble of disparate, fading memories — has a handsome new companion who’s programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given the chance? In this richly spare, wondrous new play, Jordan Harrison explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits — if any — of what technology can replace.

Marjorie Prime was performed at the University of Georgia's Memorial Hall Ballroom and Adinkra Hall from April 25th through April 28th, 2024.

Jillian Mitchell is an alumnus of the University of Georgia, where she received her B.A. in Theatre and specialized in several areas such as acting, directing, musical theatre, dance, and classical voice. She now serves as a choir intern for the First Methodist Church of Greensboro-Lake Oconee, and is currently planning to move to New York City to further pursue her professional ambitions in theatre.

During her time at the University of Georgia, Mitchell was heavily involved in the UGA Theatre community, including acting as AGA's first Artistic Director and performing in multiple UGA productions such as Silent Sky and Convent of Pleasure.

Mitchell made her directorial debut in her experimental Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO) project, Rabbit Hole. And, following an emergency with Marjorie Prime, Mitchell gracefully stepped into the role of "Tess," leading the cast as Director and actor.
